About Penny’s Primulas – Company Information
Penny’s Primulas is a trading name for Staddon Farm Nurseries. The nursery is a small family run business, established in 1996. Penny and Melvyn will be your key contacts for processing your orders. In October 2013 we were awarded National Collection Holder status for Primula sieboldii Japanese cvs. At present this is the only recognised collection of Japanese Primula sieboldii in the UK.
Our North Devon nursery is not generally open to the public. If you would like to visit please contact us by email – firstname.lastname@example.org – and we can supply you with more information. In addition, we welcome Gardening Clubs for talks and visits, please use the above email address for further details.
In 2013 we launched this website to enable us to offer a mail order service for our collections of Primula sieboldii, Epimediums and Ferns. We will continue to sell these plants at the early spring RHS shows, including Cardiff (cancelled in 2021), Malvern Spring Festival and Chelsea Flower Show, where you will find us in the RHS floral marquees. We will also be exhibiting at the RHS Rosemoor Gardens in August and Malvern Autumn Festival in September each year.
You may see that we have updated our website to make it “mobile friendly” – so it works on phones and tablets as well as computers. The pages also reflect the increasing number of Primula sieboldii we have in the collection. We hope it makes it easier for you to navigate and select your favourites. You will also find a limited range of Guest Pages. Whilst staging exhibits we like to combine Primula sieboldii with other plants that are often found growing along side them, in more natural settings. This has led to a modest but what Penny thinks is an interesting collection of Epimediums and Ferns. We have included these in our Guest Pages, along with a limited selection of other choice plants, including the Japanese woodland Hakone Grass. Unfortunately, many of this latter group of plants are available in very small quantities only, because many are originally sourced directly from Japan. We hope you find them of some interest.
Although we normally dispatch our plants already potted up in 9cm pots, if you would like your order to be sent outside of mainland UK we will send your crowns ‘bare rooted’ wrapped in moss.
If you would like more information regarding delivery, payment methods or a general enquiry regarding our plants, please contact us on the email address email@example.com
Our website will be regularly up-dated, so please revisit often for the most current availability lists.
