Company Information

Our Primula sieboldii growing in our Nursery in 2016Penny’s Primulas is a trading name for Staddon Farm Nurseries. The nursery is a small family run business, established in 1996. Penny and Melvyn will be your key contacts for processing your orders. In October 2013 we were awarded National Collection Holder status for Primula sieboldii Japanese cvs. At present this is the only recognised collection of Primula sieboldii in the UK.

Our North Devon nursery is not generally open to the public. If you would like to visit please contact us by email - - and we can supply you with more information. In addition, we welcome Gardening Club visits, please use the above email address for further details.

In 2013 we launched this website in conjunction with being able to offer a mail order service for the Asiatic Primulas, including Primula sieboldii. We will still continue to sell these plants at RHS shows, including Cardiff, Malvern Spring and Hampton Court, where you will find us in the RHS floral marquees.

This year we decided to up-date our website to reflect the increasing number of Primula sieboldii we have in the collection. We hope it makes it easier for you to navigate and select your favourites. You will also find a Guest Page. Whilst staging exhibits we like to combine Primula sieboldii with other plants that are often found growing along side them, in more natural settings. This has led to a modest but what Penny thinks is an interesting collection of Epimediums. Therefore, this year our Guest Page is all about Epimediums. We hope you find it of some interest.

Although we normally dispatch our plants already potted up in 9cm pots, if you would like your order to be sent outside of mainland UK we will send your crowns 'bare rooted' wrapped in moss.

If you would like more information regarding delivery, payment methods or a general enquiry regarding our plants, please contact us on the email address

Our website will be regularly up-dated, so please revisit often for the most current availability lists.

Recommended read Primula sieboldii – Edo Gardening by Mr. Tsueno Torii. ISBN 4-05-402923-X. It has excellent photos and English translation for the names.
