Relatively new Chinese species introduction. This is a mid-sized evergreen similar to Epimedium Fargesii, with small starry white petals, slightly backswept, showing off a distinct purple centre and elongated anthers. This species is endangered in the wild and valued for its medicinal properties in China.
Epimedium wushanense. Upright flowering, with large creamy beige flowers. Raised by Julian Sutton of Desirable Plants in Totnes. Named in recognition of the RHS show at which this seedling was exhibited by us and caused a minor sensation in 2017.
E. flavum x ogisui hybrid, raised by Robin White Free-flowering evergreen form with pale yellow flowers over bronzed foliage in early spring. Plant in light shade, away from summer drought and winter waterlogging, but water in well in its first year.
