Three ferns of your choice for £12 (P&P is extra). It would help to nominate a reserve fern, just in case any of your first choice ferns runs out (but please state clearly that this is as an alternative, rather than a fourth plant ordered).
Northern Maidenhair – Delicate, 20-40cm fronds with black stems, spread out into a fan-like circle. Hardy and easy to grow in moist, cool free draining environments in reasonable shade. Deciduous.
Eared Lady Fern Very attractive hardy herbaceous painted fern. Forms a clump of arching pale green fronds with dark red stems up to 80cm, which looks particularly stunning as the fronds first emerge. Moist free-draining humous rich soil in semi-shade.
Deer Fern (Hard Fern) Native fern, which establishes well in shady areas in damp, neutral to acidic soil. Evergreen fern forming neat clumps of long arched comb-like fronds. The tough fronds give the name Hard Fern.
Japanese Painted Fern Hardy deciduous fern with arching, red veined silver-green fronds up to 45cm. Colour develops over the first few years. Makes good colourful ground-cover in shady sites in moist free-draining soil.
Golden Scaled Male Fern Hardy and reliable semi-evergreen fern forming medium to large clumps of deep green fronds up to 125cm long. Plant in moist, shady soil.
Broad Buckler Fern Hardy semi-evergreen with toothed and crispy fronds growing in bushy clumps to 60cm tall. Easy in good garden soils in full or partial shade.
