Three ferns of your choice for £12 (P&P is extra). It would help to nominate a reserve fern, just in case any of your first choice ferns runs out (but please state clearly that this is as an alternative, rather than a fourth plant ordered).
Eared Lady Fern Very attractive hardy herbaceous painted fern. Forms a clump of arching pale green fronds with dark red stems up to 80cm, which looks particularly stunning as the fronds first emerge. Moist free-draining humous rich soil in semi-shade.
Japanese Painted Fern Hardy deciduous fern with arching, red veined silver-green fronds up to 45cm. Colour develops over the first few years. Makes good colourful ground-cover in shady sites in moist free-draining soil.
Japanese Beech Fern Very attractive compact semi-evergeen fern with finely cut, soft green fronds held upright to 60cm. Moist soil in partial shade, but will tolerate periods of dry once established.
Slender Crested Male Fern Hardy deciduous fern forming clumps with large arching fronds of narrow pinnules to 90cm. Prefers cool moist shade or semi-shade.
Alpine Wood Fern Hardy semi-evergreen fern, with tufts of erect, narrow fronds up to 150cm. Frond ribs covered in yellow hairs when young, which turn black with age, giving this fern its distinctive look. Good quality moist garden soil in shade and away from heat in summer.
Red Shield Fern Hardy semi-evergreen fern with copper coloured new fronds emerging in spring and through the growing season. Fronds grow in tight clumps and turn a shiny dark green and grow to 75cm. Shade or semi-shade in good quality garden soil.
