Three ferns of your choice for £12 (P&P is extra). It would help to nominate a reserve fern, just in case any of your first choice ferns runs out (but please state clearly that this is as an alternative, rather than a fourth plant ordered).
Undulated Hart’s Tongue Native form which forms small clumped rosettes of narrow wavy evergreen fronds, to 25cm height. Humous-rich soil, well drained but moist with reasonably neutral pH. Semi-shaded aspect.
Crested Male Fern Hardy and compact growing, with lime green fronds emerging in early spring. Fronds very curly and resemble parsley. Grows in clumps, preferring damp shade in neutral to acid soil.
Japanese Painted Fern Hardy deciduous fern with arching, red veined silver-green fronds up to 45cm. Colour develops over the first few years. Makes good colourful ground-cover in shady sites in moist free-draining soil.
Slender Crested Male Fern Hardy deciduous fern forming clumps with large arching fronds of narrow pinnules to 90cm. Prefers cool moist shade or semi-shade.
Northern Maidenhair – Delicate, 20-40cm fronds with black stems, spread out into a fan-like circle. Hardy and easy to grow in moist, cool free draining environments in reasonable shade. Deciduous.
Interrupted Fern So named because the fertile segments of the fruiting fronds are carried in between lengths of barren frond rib. Deciduous fern with fronds growing to 150cm in mature plants. Neutral to acid rich soil in sheltered shade or semi-shade.
Soft Shield Fern Compact semi-evergreen fern with slightly arching upright pale green fronds to 90cm. Hardy fern for shade or semi-shade and moist soil.
