Flat blooming, cherry blossom petalled pin. Pure white flowers, with the faintest rose flush in the very centre. Very floribund. Beautiful.
This cultivar was collected by Mary Robinson of Martin Nest Nurseries, through swapping cultivars from her national collection of Primula auricula with a nursery in Japan. Unfortunately we do not know which one.
The name translates as “Silver Coloured Ring”. We are told that the phonetic spellings of Gin-pukurin and Ginfukurin probably translate from the same Japanese name. The cultivar name translation is clearly applicable to this form. However, both cultivar forms are very distinct and collectible and will not be the result of a chance seedling. We keep both forms.
