Primula sieboldii ‘Kashima’

White centred, pink feathered Primula sieboldii cultivar.  Very slender notched petals, which can vary in length between years. The cultivar name translates as “Purple Tokyo”

Wave blooming, overlap petalled thrum.  Pure white flowers.  Tends to be lower growing that normal and one of the later cultivars to come into flower. One of our first cultivars, from Martin Nest Nurseries and a very neat and attractive Primula sieboldii.

Flat blooming, cherry blossom petalled thrum.  Pale pink flowers, with pale pink reverse.  Tends to be one of the later and profuse flowering Primula sieboldii cultivars.  We do not know the origins of this cultivar, which we obtained in 2007.

This Primula sieboldii cultivar petal colour is a rich pink, but it “sports” heavily.  Sporting cultivars are popular in Japanese collections.  Our collection plants are predominantly pale pink sporting, with splashes of the dark pink.
